About Department

Our team prepares future special educators to work with people with special educational needs of all ages - early childhood, preschool, school age, adolescence, adulthood and old age.

We offer full-time and combined studies, and you can also choose a double major, focused on teaching, and a single major, directed towards counselling. In accordance with the chosen study plans, students are introduced to the possibilities of education in inclusive and independent school environments and to the procedures of special educational intervention in the context of comprehensive support for people with special educational needs. They also learn to navigate the important background in interdisciplinary cooperation and communication with key persons - legal guardians and family members. Their own knowledge and procedures of working with persons with special educational needs are verified and expanded during the practice carried out in schools and other institutions with which our department has been cooperating for a long time.
