CCforSEN: Innovative Educational Approaches, Experience Sharing, and Virtual Reality in Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs
The Department of Special and Inclusive Education at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, is taking part in the international Erasmus+ project CCforSEN. The project aims to develop the professional competences of professionals and caregivers working with children with special educational needs, developmental challenges, or at risk of developing them.
The initiative bridges evidence-based practices with modern technologies, including virtual reality (VR). Key project outputs include educational resources—such as a Course Book and an Activity Book—as well as VR scenarios, software tools, and methodologies alongside assessment tools for evaluating learning outcomes.
Recent international project meetings were held at Sakarya University in Türkiye and in Bremen, Germany, where partners finalized educational materials, prepared VR tools, and coordinated the pilot testing of the developed outputs. Masaryk University has already joined the pilot testing phase: through the Lifelong Learning Centre at the Faculty of Education, MU, a training course for 20 participants was launched, focusing on developing competences to support children aged 2–7 years. This 40-hour program combines face-to-face sessions with self-study and utilizes the resources developed within the project. Successful graduates will be awarded a 7 ECTS micro-credential.
The project team members representing the Faculty of Education, MU, are Barbora Bazalová, Dana Zámečníková, Veronika Včelíková, and Ondřej Ling.
